As we gradually come out of lockdown, best-selling piano author and mental health advocate Mark Deeks is organising a World Piano Day 24hr extravaganza on March 29, the 88th day of the year. The annual event to celebrate a love of the 88 keys of a piano, will this year be spearheaded by #worldpiano88 which will embrace the power of technology to make it accessible to everyone across the world.
The US census in December reported that 42% of people surveyed reported symptoms of anxiety or depression. In the same period, over half (54%) of the adult UK population have felt anxious or worried because of the pandemic. #worldpiano88 will let participants share their stories about how piano makes them feel, what it gives them and how it improves their wellbeing, led by the world's first Clubhouse World Piano Day.
